- Fresh peaches, sliced4 cups
- Sugar1 cup
- All-purpose flour1 cup
- Baking powder1 tsp
- Milk0.75 cup
- Melted butter0.5 cup
- Cinnamon0.5 tsp
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
- In a saucepan, cook the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar and a splash of water for 5 minutes until slightly soft.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon.
- Stir in the milk to form a smooth batter.
- Pour the melted butter into a baking dish. Pour the batter over the butter (do not stir).
- Spoon the warm peaches and their juices over the batter.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and bubbly.
- Serve warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
