Ingredients

  • Fresh peaches, sliced4 cups
  • Sugar1 cup
  • All-purpose flour1 cup
  • Baking powder1 tsp
  • Milk0.75 cup
  • Melted butter0.5 cup
  • Cinnamon0.5 tsp

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. In a saucepan, cook the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar and a splash of water for 5 minutes until slightly soft.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  4. Stir in the milk to form a smooth batter.
  5. Pour the melted butter into a baking dish. Pour the batter over the butter (do not stir).
  6. Spoon the warm peaches and their juices over the batter.
  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Serve warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
