Ingredients
- All-purpose flour1 cup
- Water1 cup
- Butter2 tbsp
- Sugar1 tbsp
- Salt0.25 tsp
- Oil for frying2 cups
- Cinnamon sugar for coating0.5 cup
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring water, butter, sugar, and salt to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and add the flour all at once. Stir vigorously until the mixture forms a ball.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 180°C (350°F).
- Pipe 4-6 inch strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting the end with scissors.
- Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove churros with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- While still warm, roll the churros in cinnamon sugar until evenly coated.
- Serve immediately, with chocolate sauce for dipping.
